Hi everyone,
We hope you had a great weekend. We're racing furiously to the finish line now, and the team is putting in long hours on all fronts.
Preparations for the mass production run are going well, and our molds have come in. We've noticed a couple of minor things that we wanted fixed.
Seeing the molds gets us excited because it's driven home the fact that we're on the final leg of the journey before shipping. We know that you've all been patient with us and shown your support even through the global lockdown, and we appreciate that.
Here are a couple of photos of the molds.

Hi everyone!
We’re moving along on schedule in preparation of our manufacturing run and wanted to share a few photos with you today. Our first molds arrived for testing and we wanted to show them to you.
We’ve asked for a couple of improvements before we do the final production run, most notably a smoother finish on the outer shell.
On the software end, we’re currently doing a final beta run with our select group of testers in Japan, Singapore, and Manila. The main focus of our tests now has been the bandwidth controls – as we wanted to do another run of tests in multiple network speeds (including 1GBPS). These tests have been going well, but we’re continuing to run them daily.
We’re getting more and more excited as June gets nearer and can’t wait to start mass production and shipping!

Hi everyone,
We're almost halfway through May, so we wanted to give you another update on our progress. We'll be making these more often from now until we ship next month.
We're currently on schedule, and are expecting molding samples to be delivered to Taiwan this week for approval. We'll be reviewing and testing these, and will share the results in our next update.
Though the COVID-19 situation continues to keep many us at home, we're excited to be getting closer to the finish line. We hope that you and your families are continuing to stay safe and healthy during this period.
On a final note, we'd like to remind everyone to stay vigilant online during this period. Cybercriminals aren't taking any time off during the global lockdown, and many are even using the COVID-19 situation to trick people into sharing sensitive information.

Hi everyone,
We’ve continued to work hard on the device over the last few weeks and wanted to share a few updates with you.
Device
While testing new ideas, the team managed to hit a breakthrough in terms of performance. While we already had things running at a great pace, we’ve added a few tweaks that have significantly improved CPU and RAM usage across the board.
Software
We’ve made a few tweaks to our Android and iOS apps to further improve performance along with minimizing their footprint. This is helping the app function faster. We’ve also made some improvements to the UI that makes it more intuitive to use.
Manufacturing
We’re keeping regular communications with our manufacturing partners and are looking forward to testing our golden samples in May. As mentioned previously, we’ll be shipping the samples to our teams over the course of a couple of weeks for final testing before we give the green light to our manufacturing partners to do our first full production run.
It’s been a rough few months for everyone, and we hope you have all been staying safe and healthy. We’ll continue to provide updates on the process, especially as we get closer to starting our mass production run.

Hi everyone,
We know it’s been a trying time for everyone all around the world over the last few weeks, but we wanted to get in touch with you again to update you further on what’s happening with our manufacturing plans.
Over the last two weeks since our last update, we’ve been working with our partners to finalize production timelines.
As we previously shared, we were trying to find ways to work around the travel bans and other logistical issues that the COVID-19 pandemic presented.
Unfortunately, we have gotten confirmation that we will be experiencing delays in the manufacturing process. As part of our commitment to staying open and transparent with you, our backers, we wanted to tell you about it as soon as possible.
We did want to stay hopeful about shipping on time, but the situation worldwide has continued to worsen over the last few weeks – affecting manufacturing, delivery, and supply chains around the globe.
As of now, it looks like we will be able to receive our first samples to test in the first week of May, instead of April. This means that our tooling, assembly, and testing timelines have all been pushed back a month.
Once we’ve received the samples, we’ll be carrying out our QA/QC testing, which will have to be done in multiple countries instead of a single location. The lockdowns in the Philippines, Singapore, and Taiwan all mean that even if we were to travel, we would be subject to a mandatory quarantine period upon arrival – so we’re going to circumvent that by having our team members test them in their countries of residence. Should there be any questions with regards to the samples, we will have to engage the factory through video conferencing and we will have to patiently check the tooling through such means as well. What would normally take 2-5 days of work, now may take up to 2 weeks if samples are not up to standard.
The effect of all this is that our mass production can begin in early June, which means that we should be able to ship out Pangolin to your homes between mid and late June. We apologize for this delay, and we hope that you can understand that this is an unprecedented situation.
