Hi everyone,
Your backer surveys will be arriving in your inboxes over the next few days, and we wanted to remind you to keep a lookout for them.
The surveys are straightforward. We’ll be asking you to share the following information:
- A couple of questions about the project
- Your shipping address
- Your color choice for the device
You’ll be able to update your shipping address in the future if you need to, so don’t worry about that.

Post-Campaign Update 1

Hi everyone,
We know many of you have been interested in seeing our first big post-campaign update. A few have gotten in touch with us and we wanted to thank you for your patience.
We’ve been hard at work since the campaign closed on November 22, and here are the key updates that we wanted to share with you.
Surveys
We’ll be sending out a backer survey to all of you soon. This will allow you to update your shipping information so that we can get your Pangolins to you.
Additionally, you’ll also be able to purchase add-on items, including a different shell color option and additional Pangolins in case you or a friend still wants to get it at a largely discounted price. The additional devices will be available at 36% off.
Software
The entire month of November was focused on developing infrastructure and updating our code base.
We’re locking the software by January, so that no new modules will be added until after February. While we have a couple cool things in the works for future updates in Q2 - Q4 2020, we’re dedicated to delivering the software capabilities that were promised in the campaign first.
A milestone we hit these last two weeks was creating an automated staging server for our team to test out different modules before they go into the production copy. Having set this up helps speed up the reiteration and development process by a few fold compared to before.
Some backers have asked about the safety of their data on the cloud, and we’re happy to share that we’ve built a solution that will store almost no PII.
To this end, we designed a new client and server architecture with user data privacy as the focus. The new architecture allows us to avoid the storage of user or network information on the cloud. All connections are further encrypted to provide more security for our users.
This has us excited because it enables us to build new features that will not require user data – and possible a local access structure to the device in the future.
We’ve managed to hit our target goal in completing the infrastructure and are now working on porting the iOS and android apps over to the new architecture. Our goal for this would be the end of December.
Hardware
We’re working with logistics partners to be certain that proper processes are followed to ensure your Pangolin is delivered by May 2020.
Our engineers continue to improve the mechanical design in order to ensure that some issues we’ve discovered during our testing phases are fixed. During testing we found that in extremely heavy network workloads the overall device temperature got warmer than we were comfortable with. Our solution was to use a larger heatsink in order to dissipate the heat better.

Hi everyone,
Our Kickstarter campaign is finally complete, and the first thing that we need to say is THANK YOU to all of our backers.
You’ve shown faith in our vision for Pangolin, and we truly appreciate that. We’re looking forward to delivering the device to your doorstep next year.
We didn’t know what to expect, as this was our first crowdfunding campaign, and we can certainly say that this was a humbling and eye-opening experience. We’re glad to have gone through the process, though, as we’ve also gotten to know quite a few of you through your questions and comments.
Here are the next steps that will happen in the near future:
1. We’ll be sending out a backer survey to you some time in the next few weeks to confirm certain details such as your delivery address.
2. We’ll continue to update our Kickstarter page with the latest news regarding product development, manufacturing, and shipping.
We were excited to get supported by people from 24 different countries. Seeing such a diverse list of backers was very encouraging for the team. It’s helped us confirm the breadth of markets we should consider, because the need for simple and accessible cybersecurity is universal.

48 hours to go!

Wow, we can’t believe there are only 48 hours to go before our Kickstarter project reaches its completion.
We didn’t know what to expect from our first crowdfunding launch, and are grateful to have seen that there are others who support our desire to make cybersecurity more accessible for everyone.
We’ve gotten support from multiple countries, from the USA, UK, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan, and even places like Luxembourg and Dubai. It’s been an eye-opening experience, and one that’s been humbling. Plenty of you have also asked tough questions about the Pangolin and it’s design, and they’ve helped keep the development team engaged and motivated to provide the best experience possible.
A big thank you goes out to everyone that believed in us, and we truly look forward to getting units delivered to all of you. Every single one of you are amazing!

Hi Everyone,
We are excited to have hit our funding goal with a few days to go still! A big thank you goes out to everyone who have believed in and supported us.
It has been an incredible journey so far, and it is only the beginning. We will be updating everyone regularly in the coming months to show you our progress, how production and development is going, and more.
